Controller Interface Device (CID)
Introduction

The controller interface device (CID) developed at the Advanced Traffic Analysis Center (ATAC), which is a program of North Dakota State University's Upper Great Plains Transportation Institute, supports hardware-in-the-loop simulation using PTV's VISSIM, Citilab's Cube Dynasim, and TSIS-CORSIM traffic simulation models and NEMA TS 2 traffic signal controllers.

ATACid is the product of several years of research and development by researchers and students to improve upon existing similar devices in a number of ways, including:

  • Works with powerful traffic simulation models
  • Uses current off-the-shelf technology
  • Cost effective
  • Small in size
  • Easy to set up and use
  • Ethernet connectivity allows it to talk to controllers virtually anywhere in the world

More information about the ATACid and its features can be found under the "Related Info" links. If you have any additional questions, e-mail Jason at jason.baker@ndsu.edu
