The purpose of this study was to evaluate the current pedestrian safety and traffic circulation, identify safety issues, and propose methods for addressing these issues for the Lewis & Clark, West, & New Heights Elementary schools. Field data revealed some unsafe practices related to school access, traffic circulation within school grounds, and parking. Several short- and long-term improvements were identified to improve pedestrian safety and traffic operations.
