This study evaluated the performance of commonly used traffic data collection systems using selected case study locations on 2-lane and 4-lane roads. Several traffic counting devices were selected for the comparison, including: Traffic Tally 6, MetroCount 5600 Vehicle Classifier System, Jamar Technologies TRAX RD, HI-STAR Vehicle Magnetic Imaging, and AutoScope machine vision system. The evaluation included traffic counts and vehicle classification for the selected systems.
