ATAC
About Us

The Advanced Traffic Analysis Center (ATAC) is one of the main programs of the Upper Great Plains Transportation Institute (UGPTI) at North Dakota State University. The UGPTI is the focal point of transportation research, education, and service at NDSU.

ATAC's primary role is to provide support to decision makers who are responsible for planning, operating, and funding transportation systems at the local, regional, and state level. To successfully accomplish this role, ATAC employs talented staff and students; maintains state-of-the-art computer hardware and software; and provides effective facilities for conducting research, training, and service.

ATAC's staff primarily consists of transportation engineers, as well as graduate and undergraduate students from civil engineering, computer science, and electrical engineering. Because of ATAC's relationship with the UGPTI and NDSU, it can enlist diverse talents from engineering, economics, statistics, computer science, and business and management to address interdisciplinary transportation issues.

ATAC is located in the Quentin Burdick Building on the North Dakota State University campus. In addition to staff offices, Quentin Burdick Building also houses ATAC's Laboratory which has computing and traffic data collection equipment.
